Are you looking for a fresh start...more often?

Create a routine you can just grab out of your bullet journal for emergency "self care" Sunday, or you know...those inevitable mid week crises.

What does this really mean, well a reset routine is simply a set of activities that you can do that will leave you feeling refreshed and ready for the the next challenge. These are already part of our lives, without us even noticing: 4 pm tea time, 8 hr seep schedule, weekends, end of the year vacations... We need rest, we need recovery and to stay motivated we need clean slates.

Good news, you can create them!

There are many forms of reset routines, they can last anywhere from 5 minutes to hours. They can be as long and deep as you want them to be and you can create as many as you need.

My advice: create a few reset routines that are part of your lifestyle, so you never lack a clean slate when you need it. Start simple, maybe just a "Quick fix" routine and a "Weekly reset" (my personal favorite). With these in your pocket you can get recharged whenever you stumbled out of your path, whenever life is being just a bit harsh on you.

“take the time to acknowledge where you are, so you can decide to move foreword.”

Let's start with a short Night Time Reset Routine

Take these three easy steps to create go-to relaxing routine:

1. Treat your senses.

Light a candle, play some music, make something tasty, grab your favorite tea, get in cozy pajamas, dim the lights.. you know just make yourself comfortable and treat your senses with something they might enjoy

2. Do something cleansing.

Find something that feels cleansing you, physically, mentally, emotionally, whatever you need most that day. Do one thing that makes you feel clean, and refreshed afterwards.

3. Relax.

Now, the key to a good clean slate is being able to let things go. Accept what has already happened, take the time to get everything back together, to relax and rethink, decide to let the past go and to start over the next day. Do something that you actually enjoy, and that you find relaxing so you can have the energy to spend the following day.

Create a Weekly Reset

As expected, I always do mine on Sundays (the whole weekend really), but you can pick any day of the week to sit down and repurpose your energy. To really identify where you are and how to move forward. There are four key elements to a good reset routine.

1. Recap

Look back at the week and analyze the things that you did and did not do, the lows and highs, lessons learned. Take time to file everything that came into your life this week in its proper place.⠀

2. Reset

Make your space ready for the upcoming week. Clean up and eliminate what you no longer need.

3. Restart

Plan the week ahead with a clear mind.⠀

4. Recharge

Give your body the rest and pampering that it needs. Enjoy and relax.⠀ ⠀ Again, it can be as extensive or as short as you want it to be! Its up to you, all that we're aiming for is a very satisfying feeling of fresh start by the time you are done with your routine.

Wouldn't you love to have the new year's motivation every single week? Or that post-vacation energy mid week. Create a go-to reset routine and let me know how it goes!
